The striker, who has been sidelined since November after suffering a lateral cartilage tear to his knee, scored with his first touch and added a second almost straight from the kick-off. Director of sport Chris Turner hailed the forward's performance, but insists he will not be rushed back into first-team contention.when it is right for his career - that is more important than one Saturday afternoon. "We will make sure we don't push him too early and jeopardise the rest of the season. It is important he is used at the right time when he is ready. Scunthorpe took the lead through Danny North, but after Ben May was shown a straight red card for an angry reaction to an aerial challenge with Leon McSweeney, Pools took control. Armann Bjornsson scored twice, with Hartlepool's other goals coming from Michael Mackay and Colin Larkin.
