Pools told to fear revenge

Hartlepool have been handed a warning by Southend midfielder Alan McCormack ahead of the clash between the two clubs at Roots Hall on Friday night.

McCormack revealed that revenge is on the cards after the Shrimpers were hammered 3-0 in the reverse fixture just before Christmas.

The 25-year-old warmed up the tie by commenting: "Everything about that night was dismal and disappointing and we want revenge.

"We got spanked and it was a long journey home for us and our fans.

"We owe them one so hopefully it will be us giving them a bit of a drumming this time and they will have to endure a miserable trip home, just like we did."
