Pools swoop for McSweeney

Hartlepool United have added Stockport County striker Leon McSweeney to their squad for next season.

The 26-year-old Cork-born forward is the second summer signing by Pools following the return of Adam Boyd to Victoria Park earlier this month.

McSweeney scored six goals in 58 appearances for the Hatters following his arrival at Edgeley Park in January 2008.

As well as playing for his hometown club, McSweeney has also enjoyed spells with Leicester City, Scarborough, Hucknall Town, Hednesford and Ilkeston Town.
