Hartlepool United boss Danny Wilson was a relieved man after seeing his side rescue their long unbeaten run with a late penalty in the 1-1 home draw with Lincoln City.
Richie Barker's spot-kick took Pools' unbeaten run to 20 games, with their last league defeat coming in early November at home to Barnet.
Wilson admitted: "That was close, but it's typical of this team. They never know when they are beaten and they will always play until the final whistle.
"We have scored a few late goals lately, but this one was the latest.
"Yet even after that we thought we could still win it and there was no question of us settling for a draw at the end.
"There is a lot of determination and character in this team, that's why they have got where they are."
