Pools dismiss Nelson bid talk

Hartlepool United have denied reports suggesting Leicester City have made an offer for highly-rated defender Michael Nelson.

The Foxes were reported on Thursday morning to have made a bid for the 26-year-old, who has made more than 250 appearances for Pools since his arrival at Victoria Park from Bury five years ago.

The League One side issued a statement on their official website, that said: "Contrary to reports, Hartlepool United have not received any official bids from Leicester City for defender Michael Nelson.

"The club will not be making any further comment at this time."

Pools' vice-captain only signed an extended contract with the club last month.
