Pools confirm Brown blow
27 Nov 2008 - 11:07:54
Hartlepool United winger James Brown has been ruled out of the remainder of the season with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.
The in-form wideman, who has previously suffered a similar problem in his left knee, was injured in the second half of Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Bristol Rovers.
"The aim now is to get James fit for next pre season," physio James Haycock told the club's official website.
"We had a feeling on Tuesday night that this was the case and I think James was already prepared for the worst when we went to see the consultant.
"We'll wait for the swelling to go down around his knee before the operation takes place.
"He'll then be in a brace for a few weeks before we place him on a structured rehabilitation plan.
"It can be quite a slow track but James is feeling optimistic at the moment and is determined to come back a stronger and a better player."
