Pools closing in on targets

Manager Danny Wilson has reassured Hartlepool United fans concerned at a lack of transfer activity that he is closing in on a number of summer targets.

Wilson has added just Jamie McCunnie andArran Lee-Barrett to his squad since winning promotion to League One last month.

But, Wilson has revealed he is on the verge of adding more players to his ranks with a striker and goalkeeper believed to be top of his list of priorities.

"You tend to see things pick up in the first week in July," he told the Northern Echo.

"There is not a lot of activity in June because a lot of players like to weigh up options and think about what they want to do.

"We have spoken to several players and now it is a case of wait and see.''

Pools are expected to confirm the signing of Middlesbrough midfielder Jason Kennedy in the coming days.
