Pools boss rues `crazy spell`
Hartlepool manager Mick Wadsworth was left to rue a crazy second half spell after his side lost 4-0 at Peterborough. The visitors conceded three times in the space of seven minutes after losing imposing defender Peter Hartley to illness."It was a real shock to concede so many goals in such quick succession," said Wadsworth. "It was a crazy spell during which we were found wanting defensively and that's not like us."Whether it was due to losing Peter who had been unwell all day is something I will have to study on the DVD, but there is no doubt our defending let us down during that period."We played very well for the majority of the game - certainly better than the final scoreline might suggest. In the first half we nullified Peterborough's threats and played some decent football on the counter-attack."The only slight disappointment was that we couldn't take a couple of decent chances and the lack of goals is obviously a concern, but we hope to be in a position to do something about that after the weekend."
