Pools and Dale face charges

Hartlepool United and Rochdale have been charged by the FA with failing to ensure that their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion following their stormy meeting at Spotland on April 28.

Pools had Andy Monkhouse and Richie Barker sent off in a match that also featured three penalties.

Monkhouse also faces an FA charge of his own for violent conduct following an ugly tackle on Glenn Murray and a subsequent clash with some Dale players.

Rochdale won 2-0 but were also reduced to ten men when John Doolan was dismissed late on in the game.

Both clubs have until May 17 to respond to their charges.
