Pools' shortcomings in evidence again

Hartlepool caretaker-manager Mick Wadsworth conceded goalscoring had proved his side's biggest problem this season following their goalless draw at Charlton.Addicks striker Bradley Wright-Phillips' chip struck the crossbar in the seventh minute and Hartlepool defender Sam Collins followed suit early in the second half before home full-back Federico Bessone's blockbuter cannoned back off the woodwork with 11 minutes left.Wadsworth said: "In the first half I thought that Charlton were probably the better team and after the first five or six minutes of the second half I thought we were the better team."I thought we did quite well after that. At least there was some spirit in the game. I think both teams did genuinely want to win the game, but it probably showed the problems each team has had this season."We've certainly had a problem in that front line of not taking chances and not getting enough goals from our front men."Our main source of goals have been from the midfield and set plays, so that showed again here. If we were going to score it looked like being from a set play or the consequence of a set play and perhaps Chris Powell feels the same way about what he has identified as Charlton's short comings this season."
