Winger Andy Monkhouse has put pen to paper on a new contract to remain at Hartlepool United.
The 28-year-old made 51 appearances in all competitions last season and admitted he never wanted to leave Pools.
"I came in a couple of weeks ago and had a good chat with (manager) Chris Turner and with the things he's said I felt happy to stay where I am," he told the club's official website.
"From what Chris says it sounds like we'll be getting a few new players in so along with the lads who are already here I'm sure we can push on to better things next season.
"I don't think I was every going to go anywhere else, I'm happy here.
"Chris is happy having me here and the fans are so the decision seems like a no-brainer."
