    Further ban for Monkhouse

    17 May 2007 - 12:01:09

Hartlepool winger Andy Monkhouse has been hit with a further two-match ban after admitting a Football Association charge of violent conduct.

Monkhouse was originally handed a three-match suspension after being dismissed in Pools' 2-0 defeat by Rochdale on April 28 following a late challenge on Glenn Murray.

However, the former Swindon Town wideman then became involved in a altercation with Dale skipper John Doolan and has been handed an additional two-match suspension.

"Monkhouse pleaded guilty to the subsequent FA Charge (breach of rule E3) and attended a personal hearing in London at which he was suspended for an additional two games," confirmed a club statement.

Meanwhile, Pools have confirmed that goalkeeper Dimi Konstantopoulos will undergo a minor operation to cure a long-standing throat problem.
