Dons trial for Horwood

Evan Horwood will not be accompanying Hartlepool on their pre-season trip to Holland after accepting a trial with Aberdeen.The left-back, who left Carlisle at the end of last season, had been training with Pools and was due to fly out to Holland with them on Sunday.However, the 24-year-old has instead accepted Aberdeen`s trial invitation.Horwood has previously played in the SPL with Gretna during a loan spell from Sheffield United.He moved to Carlisle in January 2008 before being released by the Cumbrian club after making 93 appearances.
