Brown in line for Hartlepool start

Brown has made four substitute appearances since recovering from a serious knee injury but is now in line for a first start after a dismal display from Pools in a 4-0 defeat at Yeovil last weekend. Other players who will be hoping to be involved at Prenton Park are Colin Larkin, Ritchie Humphreys, Leon McSweeney, Jonny Rowell and Michael Mackay after they impressed for the reserves against Newcastle in midweek. Ben Clark and Armann Bjornsson did not feature in the 2-0 win against the Magpies and that could be with Friday night in mind. Striker Denis Behan remains a long-term absentee with an ankle injury.
