Wadsworth: We were poor

Hartlepool manager Mick Wadsworth confessed that his side had not deserved to win following their 1-0 loss at Carlisle. Pools failed to make the most of a man advantage after Liam Noble was sent off as Francois Zoko netted the winner in the 67th minute with a superb overhead kick. Wadsworth said: "We let ourselves down. We`ve played some good games recently but that was a big disappointment because we did the hard work and defended well in the first half. "After they went down to 10 men we didn't deal with it. We were very poor in controlling the game. You can't play brilliantly all the time, I wish we could. "Conditions were difficult to deal with but no excuses. By our standards the whole team was not at its best by a long way. "Antony Sweeney has a nasty shin injury. We'll have to wait and see how he is. I was disappointed when I heard shouts about cheating. I can see why the referee did what he did. We lost one of our key players."
