Wadsworth sticks out his chest

Manager Mick Wadsworth felt Hartlepool just shaded their goalless draw against Southampton. Saints, with nine away wins this season, rarely looked capable of adding to that tally as the hosts took the game to them in the second half and Antony Sweeney should have won it for Hartlepool in the 80th minute, but lost his footing as he tried to turn Colin Larkin's cross home. Wadsworth said: "I think they're a really good team and the way we equipped ourselves was excellent. We worked incredibly hard and that produced some good football as well. We were on top for a lot of the game. "Look at what the goalkeepers had to do. We defended the penalty box well when we had to and opened them up at times as well. Sweeney had a good chance to win it, and Colin Larkin too. It's disappointing not to win as we shaded it on balance of play." The Pools boss added: "We didn't deserve to lose to MK Dons on Saturday and we've taken four points from three tough home games in a week. I would have taken three draws, but we have a bit more in four points. "We've taken seven points from four home games against play-off challengers, so that's not bad at all."
