Wadsworth eyes permanent Pools role

First-team coach Mick Wadsworth hopes to be in charge of Hartlepool next season and is quietly optimistic about his chances. Wadsworth was handed the reins after Chris Turner parted ways with Pools in August and, since, has led the north-east club not only away from relegation danger but up into 11th place - albeit 11 points adrift of the play-off places - with eight games remaining. Asked about his future, Wadsworth told BBC Look North: "You`ll have to ask the chairman on that one. I thoroughly enjoy it here and I`m pretty sure I`ll be here next season, I would hope I am because I`ve had a fantastic time here and I really like the club. And I really enjoy working here. "Absolutely I want to stay, why not? It`s a good club and I`ve thoroughly enjoyed my time here. "It was difficult early in the season when we had all of the changes but from there on in I`ve had great support from the board and great support from my staff who have been helping me with the players."
