Wad a relief for Pools

Hartlepool boss Mick Wadsworth breathed a sigh of relief after their winless streak came to and end with a 1-0 success against Colchester. Antony Sweeney's 11th goal of the season two minutes from time ended a run of seven games without a victory. "We needed a win of any sort," admitted Wadsworth. "It was a tough game against a powerful side, and it was a game we thought would go either way, but we played well in the second half. "We pushed them back and had some real quality. The most important thing was the desire and ruggedness and will to compete and individually we came out on top. "As ever, when we win, we earn it. Each win and each goal we earn them, there are no easy games. And this was a good way to get back on track."
