Turner woe at collapse

Hartlepool director of sport Chris Turner expressed his disappointment at only taking a point from the game against Swindon, despite being pleased with his sides performance on the whole. His side raced into a two-goal lead before half-time with goals from Adam Boyd and Anthony Sweeney, but were pegged back by second-half goals from Thomas Dossevi and Charlie Austin. Turner said: "It's a bit of mixed emotions. We got into a great spot at 2-0 up, but didn't perform in the second half as well. "We gave away two goals and could have lost the game. We are a bit relieved as at 2-2 with 15 to go they looked like they were pressing for a third. "It's frustrating for everyone as we lost a part of the game and players looked tired without having a spark to revitalise the display. It happens in football, people are slashing at clearance and in the first half they were getting it down as passing it around. "It's tough, three games in seven days at the start of the season. We dominated Rochdale, dominated Sheffield United and did this time at times as well. Swindon are no mugs and we competed well but just ran out of steam in the second-half."
