Turner to monitor Brown

Hartlepool director of sport Chris Turner will assess the fitness of forward James Brown before the home clash with Swindon. Brown opened the scoring in Pools` Carling Cup triumph over Sheffield United on Wednesday but later hobbled off with what appeared to be another knee problem. However, it is thought the substitution was made more out of precaution. Neil Austin is sidelined for the next month after suffering a knee ligament injury in last Saturday's draw with Rochdale, and Ritchie Humphreys is still building up his fitness, but Turner is unlikely to make changes after the impressive victory over the Blades. Fabian Yantorno is still awaiting international clearance.
