Turner puts O'Donovan talks on hold

Hartlepool director of sport Chris Turner has refused to discuss the possibility of signing on-loan striker Roy O`Donovan on a permanent basis until Pools have ensured safety. The 26-year-old, who was on loan at Southend earlier in the campaign, has proved a big hit at Victoria Park, scoring five goals in nine games. But Turner says he is more worried about Pools maintaining their League One status than signing players. "It is not something we have really spoken about," he told the Hartlepool Mail. "We need to get up the table before we see where Roy is. I know he has scored a couple of goals in the last couple of games and come the right time, we will hold discussions with players for next season. "We want to get to a certain number of points before we even discuss that. We have still got some important games to play and to get involved in transfer discussions, takes your mind and the player's mind away from the game."
