Turner: Pools were second best

17 January 2010 11:37
Strikes from Jermaine Easter, Peter Leven, Sam Baldock, Jason Puncheon and a Gary Liddle own goal inflicted Pools' biggest loss at home since May 1994, with the hosts failing to muster a single shot on target.[LNB]The result was the Dons' biggest ever away win, and visiting assistant Karl Robinson revealed fans of the north-east club even approached them after the final whistle to say they had produced the best display ever seen at Victoria Park.[LNB]But, with the home crowd calling for his head, Turner said: "Credit to MK Dons, they are a very good side with pace, power and movement. Paul Ince said that result was coming for them.[LNB]"But for us, it was the worst I've seen us play. We collapsed from the first goal. We showed no passion or pride, it was a very bad day.[LNB]"There are no excuses for that. The person who gets it (from the crowd) is me. I get it. I prepare the team, pick it and send them out. They didn't show the commitment and gave in too easily. Second best is what we were."[LNB][LNB]
