Turner blasts Pools after defeat
A first-half penalty from Elvis Hammond and a Nicholas Bignall goal two minutes from time sealed the points for the Robins and leaves Hartlepool having to look over their shoulder at the relegation zone with eight games remaining.
"I think certain individuals didn't even get off the coach," said Turner.
"It doesn't matter who you play - top or bottom of the league - you've got to turn up.
"Our players have got to question themselves and ask themselves if they've done enough and I don't think they did and I told them at half-time.
"Those fans who travelled down deserved a lot better. It's all about performance and we are not a good side if certain players are not at their maximum and they weren't.
The former Sheffield Wednesday boss added: "Perhaps some of the players thought it was too easy. We couldn't stress enough that Martin Allen's sides don't lie down and die, they always fight hard."
