Time to turn the corner - Turner
Pools have been a soft touch on the road in recent seasons but Turner's battlers put in a resilient display to ensure Paul Ince's second spell as Dons' boss got off to a frustrating start.
And Turner, who fielded six new signings at stadium:mk, said: "It was possibly a good time to play them because Paul has only been here a short while and has brought a lot of players in.
"It was a hard-working performance against a team who will cause you problems if you give them space and time. The mentality of the players has been fantastic, we stopped balls going into their strikers and defended superbly from the front.
"We've had a horrendous away record for a number of years and that was a starting point towards us turning it around.
"It's a confidence booster for the lads but we won't be getting carried away because it's only the first game of the season."
