Sweeney has the knack - Wadsworth

Mick Wadsworth hailed Antony Sweeney`s "knack" of being in the right place at the right time after the midfielder scored a hat-trick in the 4-2 FA Cup win at home to Yeovil. Pools started slowly and found themselves two goals behind after 31 minutes, but a brace from Sweeney ensured they were level at the break. A stunning acrobatic effort from Ritchie Humphreys then made it 3-2 before Sweeney completed his treble with a well-taken fourth. First-team coach Wadsworth said: "Sweeney has been itching for a goal for a few weeks, he always gets in the positions, it's a gift, a real knack and it's about timing. At the weekend at Bournemouth he nearly got on the end of a few things, but in this game the service was right for him and he showed what he can do. "I feared we would start like we did - slowly - because we were up against a weakened side. They expected a tough one and we made it tough for ourselves. They scored two good goals, we weren't at the pace of it, but I wasn't too worried. "I knew a goal before half-time would see us okay and we got two - again showing the importance of set-plays. The goals gave us a platform to be able to say what we needed to at half-time without being too critical. "Then we started the second half like we should have started the first. From there on we played the football."
