Hartlepool midfielder Tony Sweeney is hoping a trio of trialists can freshen up the Victoria Park squad.
Boss Chris Turner will hold talks with Evan Horwood, Paul Murray and Fabian Yantorno after his squad return from their pre-season tour of Holland where all three players have featured.
Sweeney admits the lack of transfer activity has been unusual but he feels the fact all three trialists have previously played under Pools coach Mick Wadsworth has worked to their advantage.
He told the Hartlepool Mail: "It's been a bit strange but we've had a few trialists in who act as new signings.
"All three have worked with Mick before so he knows what they can bring.
"They've been bedding in just as much as everyone else. The three lads have been excellent."
