Surgery for Flinders

Hartlepool goalkeeper Scott Flinders will have surgery on his thumb injury on Tuesday. Flinders ruptured the main ligament in a training-ground activity and missed the goalless draw at Brentford as a result. Flinders is set to be sidelined for a minimum of three months after surgery and will continue his recovery with fellow goalkeeper Andy Rafferty, who underwent an operation on his broken finger two weeks ago. Youngster Jake Kean deputised in goal on Saturday and produced a solid display between the sticks as he kept a clean sheet and earned Pools their first point in four games.
