Pools slip to loss
Hartlepool lost their opening pre-season friendly as they were beaten 1-0 by Dutch side Almere City.
In a poor game, where Chris Turner's men struggled to create chances, Karim Fachtali's first-half striker was enough for the home team.
Almere dominated throughout the second half too, but could not find a way past Pools stopper Scott Flinders.
