Hartlepool have signed Stockport winger Leon McSweeney on a free transfer. The 26-year-old, who was out of contract at County, completed a medical at Victoria Park on Friday and becomes Pools second signing of the summer. McSweeney began his career in Ireland with his hometown club Cork before signing for Leicester in 2001. Pools boss Chris Turner told the club website: "Leon brings us something extra, he has great footballing attributes and work ethic." Stockport were placed into administration at the end of the season and Turner has taken advantage of County's player exodus.
