Pools boss Turner blasts referee

A ball sent across the penalty area appeared to strike home defender Evan Horwood on the arm but referee Andy Taylor saw nothing wrong and Carlisle held on to inflict a third straight defeat on Pools.

After Tuesday's League One clash at Brunton Park, Turner said: "It was an obvious penalty - more obvious then Thierry Henry's handball. But that is typical of what is going against us at the moment."

He added: "We got the start we wanted but we didn't play as well as we can. I haven't seen conditions like that for a long time."
