Poole back with City

James Poole has returned to Manchester City after Hartlepool first-team coach Mick Wadsworth opted not to extend his loan stay. The striker, 20, arrived at Victoria Park in early November and has registered one goal in six appearances. His stint was set to expire after Saturday`s home clash versus Southampton but with the game postponed Wadsworth has decided he will no longer be needed considering the return of some of his first-team players from injury. He told United`s official website: "We`ve enjoyed having James at the club, he`s a really good pro and has settled in really well with the rest of the boys. "But we`ve got some players coming back now and it`s not really fair to keep him here when we can`t really promise him regular first-team games." Meanwhile, young goalkeeper Lee Nicholls has also returned to Wigan after Pools decided not to prolong his stay. Nicholls failed to make an appearance during his month-long stint.
