No more additions for Pools

Hartlepool boss Chris Turner has admitted there is "no chance" of bringing in new players at the moment to strengthen his threadbare squad. Neil Austin was the latest Pools player to be set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering a knee ligament injury in Saturday's draw with Rochdale which will keep him out for a month. With Adam Boyd and James Brown still struggling to overcome their own knee problems Turner's squad is down to the bare bones but he knows he will be unable to bring new faces in to bolster it. He told the Journal: "We have no chance of bringing anyone in. It's just not going to happen. "It does make it difficult for us because at the moment we haven't got a squad of sufficient quality or size to fight at the top of the division. We're in with a batch of clubs below that who we are as good as, in my opinion. He added: "We may try and do loans a bit further down the line but at the moment that's not going to happen."
