Motormen hold Pools

Vauxhall Motors performed heroically as they earned a memorable goalless draw at Hartlepool. There are 74 places between the Conference North side and their League One opponents but it counted for little and the teams must replay a week on Tuesday. Pools missed a stack of early chances with Antony Sweeney the biggest culprit. First his one-on-one effort was smothered by Scott Tynan, then his lob went over the keeper but wide of the far post. The Motormen netted on 33 minutes but Joshua Wilson's header was long flagged offside. The home side were reduced to 10 men after 86 minutes when substitute striker Ritchie Humphreys slid in on Tynan. The goalkeeper was stretchered off after a lengthy stoppage and taken to a waiting ambulance with a suspected broken leg.
