Monkhouse revels in scoring return

Danny Wilson, now Swindon manager, signed Monkhouse from the Robins three seasons ago while in charge at Hartlepool. But there was no room for sentiment as Monkhouse netted his side's second goal to end any prospect of Swindon extending their 11-match unbeaten run. "It was the second time I had been back to the County Ground in three seasons and the second time that I'd scored," said Monkhouse, whose goal celebrations upset some Swindon fans. He added: "I simply pointed to the name on the back of my shirt when I scored and, as far as I was concerned, it was simply a bit of banter. "I didn't want to leave Swindon three years ago, but managers come and go and moving clubs is all part and parcel of a footballer's life." Pools boss Chris Turner added: "Andy is a classy player and showed exactly what he could do, and it's very encouraging to see James (Brown) getting back to fitness after being out so long."
