Director of youth development Terry Mitchell has left Hartlepool to become assistant manager at non-league neighbours Gateshead. The 48-year-old joined Hartlepool`s coaching staff in October 2005. He told the club`s official website: "I have loved every minute of working at Hartlepool and I am certain I will miss it. "I think I have helped bring the youth development department forward during my time here and I am confident I have left it in good shape. "But this is a really exciting move for me and one that has come at the right time I feel. It is an opportunity to further my coaching career. "Gateshead have just gone full-time this year and they are in their second year in the Conference. They have plans for a new stadium and it is just an all-round exciting time to be involved there."
