Mackay agrees to new Pools deal
The 26-year-old's contract was due to expire at the end of the campaign but has now committed his future at the outfit.
Mackay told the club's official website: "I'm very happy here at Hartlepool and I'm delighted to sign a new contract.
"It's a lot different playing in League football from where I came from but I do feel as if I'm getting used to the way of things and can go on from here.
"I know I need to get better and there are things I need to improve on if I am to become a regular in the first team but I'm determined to work hard to achieve that."
