Liddle determined to see Pools hold their own
Midfielder Gary Liddle is confident Hartlepool can punch their weight in League One this season.
Pools open their campaign with a trip to newly-promoted Rochdale on Saturday and, while Liddle is ruled out through suspension, he is still looking forward to seeing the season get underway.
The 24-year-old said: "We're not going to lie about things - this is going to be another tough season with the teams in our division but we know we can compete.
"We know there will be ups and downs during the course of the season but that's the same for every team.
"We just want to make sure we enjoy more up times and hopefully that will be the case this year."
