Jones eyes starting role

Hartlepool midfielder Ritchie Jones is hoping his impressive substitute appearance against Leeds on Saturday will earn him a starting spot. Jones came on for Ritchie Humphreys after 58 minutes and caused high-flying Leeds a lot of problems, with his injury-time free-kick allowing Antony Sweeney to snatch an equaliser in a 2-2 draw. Jones told the Hartlepool Mail: "The gaffer just told me to go and play on the right wing and be positive. That's basically what I did. "When a situation like this comes, you've got to go out there and try to change the way the game is going."
