Humphreys set for Pools start

Ritchie Humphreys is line to make his first start of the season when Hartlepool host Northampton in the first round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. The experienced midfielder has been sidelined with knee and Achilles problems but is poised to start against the Cobblers, with caretaker boss Mick Wadsworth set to make changes after naming the same side for the last five games. Pools were hammered 5-0 by Sheffield Wednesday at Victoria Park on Saturday and Wadsworth is expected to give some fringe players a chance to impress. The likes of Paul Murray, James Brown and Adam Boyd could be rested against the League Two side. Midfielder Fabian Yantorno could make his first start for the club, but Neil Austin (ankle) is not expected to return.
