Hartley down after Pools collapse

Hartlepool defender Peter Hartley has revealed he and his team-mates are kicking themselves after blowing a two-goal lead and the chance to move to within two points of the play-off places. Pools raced into a two-goal lead but were pegged back by two late Bristol Rovers goals on Saturday, the second two-goal advantage they have thrown away at Victoria Park this season to leave them hovering just three points above the relegation zone. Hartley told the Hartlepool Mail: "The lads are absolutely gutted. "Everyone just looks back at the Swindon game when we threw that away. To be fair to Swindon they had a 20-minute spell, whereas on Saturday they had two chances and scored two goals. "It's horrible because it just shows where we should be. We could be in the play-offs, fighting to be up there and we'd have deserved that going on our performances. "But that's football. You can play really well, week-in, week-out and not win games."
