Hartlepool V Scunthorpe at Victoria Park : Match Preview

31 August 2012 15:47
Hartlepool United's Neil Austin could make his return to first-team action against Scunthorpe after recovering from a calf problem. The injury kept him out of his team's defeat to Notts County last Tuesday but he has now made a full recovery and will be in contention for Saturday's game at Victoria Park. Goalkeeper Andy Rafferty, who remains sidelined with a knee injury, is Pools' only absentee. Otherwise manager Neale Cooper has a full squad to pick from as he goes in search of his first win of the season. Cooper's men have played just two games this term after last Saturday's clash with Leyton Orient was postponed for safety reasons. Scunthorpe new boy David Prutton could be handed his first start for the club. The man on loan from Sheffield Wednesday impressed when he came on as a second-half substitute against Norwich at Carrow Road on Tuesday. Skipper Paul Reid is unlikely to make his return to first-team action as his recovery from a broken hand is taking him longer than he had hoped. Manager Alan Knill will continue his pursuit of United's first points of the season without injured trio Callum Kennedy, Damien Mozika and Michael Collins. Kennedy remains out with an injured toe, Mozika is suffering from an ankle injury and Collins misses out as he continues to recover from tendonitis.
