Hartlepool v Mansfield

Hartlepool manager Craig Hignett could welcome back a trio of key players for Saturday's League Two clash with Mansfield.

Full-back Jake Carroll and midfielder Michael Woods missed last weekend's 2-1 victory at Yeovil with hamstring and calf problems respectively, while skipper Billy Paynter was an unused substitute after his calf seized up on the morning of the game.

However, all three have returned to training and are available for the Stags' visit to the Northern Gas and Power Stadium.

Rob Jones lasted just 45 minutes at Huish Park, but is expected to recover from the hip injury which forced him off, but fellow central defender Matthew Bates is unlikely to be involved as he continues his recovery from bruising to his ankle bone.

Mansfield's misfortune with injuries continued last weekend when George Taft pulled up with a hamstring problem.

The defender will not be fit for the trip north and joins central midfield trio Jack Thomas (groin), Chris Clements (hamstring), and Adam Chapman on the sidelines, as well as fellow centre-half Kyle Howkins (hamstring).

Striker Danny Rose will soldier on with a mask protecting a fractured eye socket as Stags boss Adam Murray has just 15 fit outfield players.

The likes of Patrick Hoban, James Baxendale, Kevan Hurst, Jamie McGuire and Darius Henderson are options should Murray make any changes.
