Walker worry for Pools

Hartlepool teenager Brad Walker is doubtful for the home game against Accrington due to an ankle injury.

Walker was forced out of last week's defeat to Wycombe and faces a late fitness test. Simon Walton will continue in midfield if the 17-year-old fails to make it.

Manager Colin Cooper is hoping midfielder Antony Sweeney returns to contention after missing the last five games due to a calf problem, but has no other new injury or suspension concerns.

Strikers Steve Howard and James Poole are pushing for recalls to the starting line-up as Pools chase their first league win of the season.

New loanee Kayode Odejayi is in line for his Accrington debut as the side bottom of the Football League pyramid seek their first victory.

Stanley have just one point this season, compared to Pools' two, but bolstered their attacking options in midweek with the acquisition of Odejayi on loan from Rotherham.

His arrival could come at a crucial time too with fellow striker Danny Webber, whose has been blighted by suspension and injury early in his Stanley career, doubtful due to a hamstring strain.

Goalkeeper Ian Dunbavin and full-back Nicky Hunt (both knee) head an extensive injury list which also includes defender Michael Liddle (ankle).
