Burton go with the Flo

Florent Cuvelier marked his Burton debut with a late winner to fire them back to the top with a 1-0 win over basement club Hartlepool.

The midfielder, signed on loan from Sheffield United earlier this week, slid a shot under Scott Flinders in the 88th minute.

The visitors were unfortunate not to be awarded a penalty inside the opening five minutes, with Lucas Akins harshly booked for diving after going down under Dan Jones' challenge.

However, the remainder of the half did not follow the expected script as Marlon Harewood spurned two good chances for Pools.

Burton began to look a little more dangerous in the latter stages, with boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink putting on Cuvelier six minutes from time in a bid to grab a winner.

And the move paid dividends when Flinders allowed the Belgian's effort to slip underneath him and into the corner, leaving Pools eight points adrift of safety.
