The 27-year-old Norwegian moved to Victoria Park on Monday and immediately joined up with his new team-mates on their pre-season tour of Holland.
Fredriksen is expected to make his Pools debut against SC Cambuur on Wednesday night and is relishing the prospect of challenging for a regular place in the side.
"I have played 15 matches in Norway already this season so I think I am fit and ready to play," he told the club's official website.
"I'm very happy to be here. When I was a kid it was always my dream to play in England so I'm looking forward to playing for Hartlepool.
"Now is the time for me to settle in, get to know the players and the coaching staff, get some good training, do my best on Wednesday then take one day at a time."
