Collins wants winning habit

Hartlepool captain Sam Collins wants his side to discover the winning habit ahead of the npower League One campaign. Collins gave Chris Turner's side the lead in Wednesday night's friendly with Whitley Bay, but they were eventually pegged back to a 1-1 draw. Pools have won just once in pre-season and Collins wants to see that record improved upon at York on Saturday, the final friendly before the League One opener against Rochdale. "Winning games is a good habit and we're not hiding from the fact that we need to do that," he told the Hartlepool Mail. "There's loads of teams over the years who've gone through pre-season without winning a game and started the season well. Hopefully that can happen to us. "But if you asked everyone, they'd still rather win games now and carry it on when the season starts. We've just got to keep working hard and make sure we're ready for Rochdale."
