Boyd rescues a point for Pools

It is now five games without victory on home turf for Pool this season, with Wycombe four games without success on the road, but it was the Wanderers who went close early on as Michael Duberry landed a header onto the roof of the net. James Brown then got Hartlepool going with an effort that eventually bobbled to safety. Scott Flinders then had to be alert in the home goal race off his line and smother when Jon-Paul Pittman was put through. The visitors took the lead after 50 minutes when striker Scott Beavon picked up possession 30 yards from goal and was allowed to move unchallenged before drilling in a low shot off the inside of the post. Hartlepool drew level with 11 minutes to play when Sam Collins headed on a Neil Austin free-kick for top scorer Adam Boyd to shuffle a volley past Scott Shearer. Boyd had a late chance to win it, but curled well wide from an inviting position.
