Boyd promising Mick goals

Hartlepool boss Mick Wadsworth has revealed that Adam Boyd has promised him a goal a game between now and the end of the season. The 28-year-old netted only his third goal of the season during Saturday's 3-1 win over Yeovil, and Wadsworth declared himself pleased that the striker kept up his pre-match goal pledge. He told the Hartlepool Mail: "Adam has promised me a goal a game to the end of the season so he's been as good as his word so far! "His goal was a terrific finish and it came at important time to get us back in the game so quickly. "But he's got that in his locker and if the ball drops to him in the box he is as good as anyone around - no doubt about that. "He'd done well and scored for the reserves during the week and he was the right choice for the game."
