Boland heading to Lilleshall
Boland will only be offered a new deal at Victoria Park if he can prove his fitness, and director of sport Chris Turner believes a trip to the Shropshire-based rehabilitation centre can only help his chances.
He told the club's official website: "Willie is trying to progress things now and get back to fitness.
"Next week our physios are away in Holland with the rest of the squad so it's a good opportunity for Willie to go to Lilleshall and take advantage of their expertise.
"It was a big blow to lose him so early last season as he was proving to be very influential for us.
"Once he gets back to fitness we can sit down and talk to him about the future but until then we just have to wait and see."
