Weaver hopeful on defender

Harrogate Town boss Simon Weaver is hopeful he will have centre-back Shane Killock available for his side's FA Cup second round tie with Hastings United.

Killock picked up a knock against Stalybridge Celtic but is likely to return for Harrogate's sixth match in this season's competition, their first-ever meeting with the Ryman Premier League strugglers.

Dwayne Samuels is available following his one-match suspension while Guiseley loanee Danny Forrest will also be looking to get the nod to start at the CNG Stadium after being passed fit.

Leeds loanee Lewis Turner is also available to feature for the Blue Square Premier North side who have lost just two of their last 11 games in all competitions.

The club have sold more than 2,200 tickets for the 1pm kick-off.

Hastings manager Sean Ray has a fully-fit squad for the trip.

Ray believes his team are in great shape going into Saturday and admits the tie has been the focus of attention for some time at the club.

"It's a big boost. We've had seven games this month but we've been chopping and changing it with this game in mind," he said.

"What we didn't want to do was overuse players in games they didn't need to play in.

"I hope they're excited. If they can't get excited about this game then they can't get excited about any."

Tom Vickers is the only absentee for Hastings as he serves the final game of a three-match suspension for a straight red card. Vickers should have been eligible for this match but Hastings' clash with Rye last week fell foul of the weather meaning he must now serve the final game of his ban in the FA Cup.
